Paddle and Pickle

Had a wonderful date with the wife on Sunday where we headed to Harpers Ferry WVa and enjoyed three hours of kayaking on the Potomac followed by a workshop on Kimchi making at an outdoor Pavillion! River and Trail Outfitters runs a host of fun events – tubing, wine, foodie tours and is having a series of pickling trips this summer.

The Kimchi portion was run by Rachel from SweetFarm in Frederick MD and gave a great overview of the fermented food movement before letting us all get our hands dirty and setting up our own kimchi batches using a quick ferment method.
